My Analysis of the Mockingjay Part 1 Trailer *SPOILERS*

Okay, I'm not really a blogger, but I had this account set up, so this is where I shall get my fangirling out.

So, that Mockingjay trailer, huh? Man...

Trailer: "The following preview has been approved for all audiences."
Me: -Squealing, shaking, etc.-

Aaaaaand, begin:

I love Katniss and Prim scenes. This is so sweet. I'm pumped to see Prim's character development. AND, can we just mention, it appears that Katniss is wearing Peeta's medallion/locket around her neck? BYE.

All right-- Snow. Talk about your villain. Donald Sutherland is an absolute beast of an actor. Holy crap. The look in his eyes is nothing short of madness, yet his voice remains calm and cool, talking to the broken, crumbling Mockingjay. Also mentioning that this is not in the book. Interesting idea having communication between these two. I'm diggin' it.

("It's the things we love the most that destroy us." Yeah, no kidding. This trailer's ripping my soul apart.)

Moving on...

EFFIE. WE HAVE EFFIE. I missed her being around in the book, and I'm quite excited that Collins gave her okay to give Effie a more prominent role in the movie. She places the Mockingjay pin on her Victor. Again, she is still so proud. Imagine what 13 is like for her. She is abandoning all she knows back in the Capitol and putting her faith in that one young girl whose fire lit up her world again. She finally got a fighter from District 12. How could Effie not stand behind her?
Awh, but then, this was Cinna's job in the first two books-- placing that pin on Katniss's top. Reminding her that she had support. He will be missed.

A-are those bombs/missiles? That bums me out.

Practicing with the new weapons...

PEETA. PEETA FOOFING MELLARK. GOD SAVE US ALL!

He's...in pretty good visible shape. I guess we won't see the real damage until the movie. I expected this. Gonna make it hurt like a mother, though.

"You're alive." Aaaand, this is where I officially lost it. Katniss's disbelief AND relief lift her from her seat to inch closer to the one she loves. (Gale's just kinda watching. xD)

Haymitch! Clearly, the lack of drinking is taking its toll-- not to mention one of the two people he loves in this world is being used as bait by Snow himself.
"Peeta is the Capitol's weapon, the same way you're ours."

CAESAR FLICKERMAN! -Cue music- Terrible the way we have to see him in THIS story, but I still enjoy him so.

PEETA...again. Still about as calm and cool as possible. Oh, those who have not read the book...you just don't KNOW what you're in for.

Katniss gets to hunt for a bit in the woods? Yes? Appears so.

"You will rescue Peeta at the earliest opportunity, or you will FIND ANOTHER MOCKINGJAY."
You go, girl! Tell 'em what's up. Still, this is not in the book. Katniss asks Coin to spare Peeta's life, not blatantly to rescue him. In fact, the plan to rescue him is devised when Katniss is sedated.

FINNICK. Oh, Finnick. He's so broken. The pain on his face in that ONE second kills me. He's trying to hold on to reality while the love of his life is being held captive by his biggest enemy. How he knows that Katniss is feeling similar trauma...

There's that rose again. On comparing that scene to the book, it is as accurate as possible. Unreal.

Katniss getting saluted in the hospital in 8? Hmm. I like it, but, again, that detail is not in the book. (BUT, and thank the Lord, they are doing it correctly-- left-handed.)

Cressida. Cool. I'm excited to hear her lines. Her and the rest of the crew.

Bombings in 8, yes?

HAYMITCH HUGGING KATNISS. If this is where it is in the book, this is right after Katniss loses it completely on camera. She cannot get over seeing the results of Peeta's beating on film. "Several sets of arms would embrace me. But in the end, the only person I truly want to comfort me is Haymitch, because he loves Peeta, too." CRYING.

-A lot of other small snips I could speculate on, but they would be little more than that-

Glimpse of them all in the safety room in 13 after Peeta's warning.

The dam busting in District 7?

Katniss and Johanna training in the rain?

Then, the shoot-off near the hospital in 8 between the rebels and the hovercrafts.

Rue's Whistle. That will never stop being powerful.

Watch again, and again, and again.
Get chills.
Get emotional.
Get excited.
Get anxious.

Hey, afterall, the Mockingjay is coming.

,III.
